Sacagawea

1788-1812

In this photo we can see Sacagawea with her son "Pompy" that was born while on the expedition. She would travel with her son and tie him on a board so she could carry him while easily using her hands to explore and direct.

In the picture below, there is a statue of Sacagawea. There are many statues of this icon, mainly to represent how brave she was and the determination it took her, as well as her traveling companions to compete the journey.
